Sutter Health’s Proposed Plan Does Not Work for Our Community

It’s too big, it’s too expensive, it’s too damaging to our community.

Sutter Health is proposing a 330-foot, 785,000-square-foot hospital as the centerpiece of a larger medical campus at 5300 Chiron Way. It would funnel an estimated 20,000 vehicle trips a day onto narrow, two-lane streets and bicycle boulevards not built to handle them. And it would increase demands on city services without providing ongoing property or business tax revenue to help close Emeryville’s $10 million deficit, projected to reach $14 million by 2030.
